Indie, glamrock, pop, and country storytelling. Hailing from Sweden, artist, producer and songwriter Ulf Ahlberg delivers a refreshing sonic identity built on haunting melodies and a driving, cinematic edge.

Ulf Ahlberg was born in Falkenberg, a small town on the Swedish west coast, and has lived in Germany for many years. Before he was ever a frontman, he spent his career behind the scenes — working as a director and producer for television series and films, and as a singer-songwriter collaborating with other artists.
"I started to play guitar at 11. At the time, I didn't understand my fundamental need of expression, I just wanted to impress the girls."
Music never left. It was his wife who finally encouraged him to step forward and become the artist himself, rather than the person shaping the story from behind the camera. That push led him into the studio — recording at Recordia Studios in Sweden and The Situation Room in Germany — to make music under his own name for the first time.
He writes, records, and mixes independently out of his own studio, blending indie, glamrock, pop, and country storytelling across a catalogue of more than twenty songs.
As he put it in an industry spotlight interview with Upcoming100: "I decided to become a film director after playing music... However, I found out much later that my expression was stronger in music. I think that the power of music is stronger than in films." Today, he draws on that visual storytelling background to conceptualise and direct his own music videos.
More singles are in the works, headed toward a full album, alongside an entry in the International Songwriting Competition.
"Life is a circle."

His newest single — a pop-rock song about two selves pulling apart to find each other again. Out now.

An exclusive vinyl and CD pressing — the best of Ulf's songs through 2025, gathered onto one record and pressed on demand.
